Entry 2 : Research Planning
ENTRY #2
Research planning for the rest of the semester
At this time to effectively complete this project, the terms and time constraints are to be identified. After extensive research into the initiative of the project, it was established that the following to be the project scope :
PROJECT SCOPE: The scope of this project would be to develop design and fabricate a reliable multipurpose mechanical tool that both professional engineers along with anyone with basic knowledge of tool and safety parameters can operate sufficiently. The machine would run using a low voltage motor needing no specialty tools or items to maintain and operate while also keeping the cost of manufacturing low.
With a Rationale of :
Machinery and automated tools have been one of the greatest and most influential items given to engineers since the first tool was crafted. It increases productivity on the worksite, provides a larger scope of manufacturing capabilities, and decreases the limitations of conventional hand-driven tools. This provides for a safer and more efficient engineering design and fabrication procedure. By combining multiple machines into one system that can be controlled by one user it allows for further effect on the workplace and it decreases safety hazards as the number specialist needed for a fabrication project would be reduced and maintains one position instead of maneuvering a dangerous work environment. By also combining multiple machine purposes into one system it also encourages “weekend warriors” or engineering enthusiasts to let their imaginations run free while providing one all-rounded tool to keep costs down as hobbies get expensive. As an upcoming engineer myself by developing a tool that can reduce safety hazards along with being cost-effective and reach the audience of both professional engineers and amateur engineers, it would be my obligation to help benefit the engineering community as a whole and provide a reliable and safe system to do so.
