Entry 4 : Objectives

Upon completion of the project proposal, the next step is both in according to my supervisors' schedule as well it would be to complete a final determination of the projects objectives. To determine this we must first consider the projects aim "Design and fabrication of a multipurpose mechanical machine" establishing this is the aim we watch now watch the project description that states : 

"Multipurpose mechanical machine combines many operations like cutting , drilling etc. Being portable in nature such machines can reduce unnecessary movement of worker in workshop for different operations. Student is required to design and fabricate mechanically linkage with a single power source that can run multiple operations. "

We can identify the key parts of this as : Multipe operations , portable , single power source and restricting movement in workers . 

Identifying this we can now show determine the objectives to be : 

The objectives of the project are as follows :

 Research and review of existing similar machinery

Develop and design a multipurpose mechanical machine including the following:   - Capable and reliable.

-Use comparison matrix to improve the efficiency of the designs’ functionality

-Improved  safety parameters for operators

-Develop a feature to make the machine partially portable

 Concept validation - Propose concepts and use mathematical means to select final concept

 Test - using appropriate testing software selected concept is to be virtually tested before fabrication proceeds

 Build and fabricate which refers to :

-Create virtual design of all parts to be assembled

- Identify materials that would create a robust but cost effective product

- hand over to the workshop for prototype to be built
